The Peruvian Society for Operations Research and Systems (SOPIOS) is an association created in October 2008 on the initiative of the participants of the XIII ELAVIO (Summer School of Operations Research) and It aims to integrate national professionals and researchers of different fields of knowledge, working in operations research, systems and related fields, in order to promote the development of these topics, their application in industry and government services, and contribute with the scientific and technology growth at the country.

COPIOS is one of the main SOPIOS activities, creating a space for meeting and discussion of research among specialists from Peru and abroad.

COPIOS 2011 will be held in Lima from 17 to 19 November 2011 at Pontificia Universidad Católica del Perú. Previously, there were two editions of the congress, in Lima organized by the Universidad Nacional Mayor de San Marcos and Arequipa organized by the Universidad Nacional de San Agustín.

The objectives of the congress COPIES 2011 are as follows:

  • Provide a space for discussion of the latest national and international trends on topics of operational research, systems and related areas.
  • Disseminate research findings related to the topics of operational research, systems and related areas.
  • Link up to professionals from different approaches work in the fields of operations research and systems.
  • Promote the development of the discipline in our country and introduce your contribution to works of public organizations, private companies and education institutions.
  • Be updated from knowledge, tools, methodologies and experience in operational research.
