Abstract:
In the present work, the Bayesian competitive risk model proposed by Vallejos and Steel (2017) is presented and discussed. Within the analysis, a simulation study was included in which the results of applying the frequentist model with respect to the Bayesian were compared with signing the efficiency of the latter with respect to the previous one. Finally, this model was applied to the database of incoming students at the Pontifical Catholic University of Peru between 2004 and 2012. The results of the application by testing a set of variables linked to student information at the time of entry they were mostly not significant, except for the variable related to whether the student entered the first option with respect to the traditional route.
