POMS has held more than 28 annual conferences from 1990 to 2018. It also holds several regional university conferences based on the development of topics such as: logistics and supply chain management, marketing and operations management, product innovation and technology in operations management, resilience and risk in operations, service operations, humanitarian operations, crisis management, etc. POMS congresses have associated proceedings and journals indexed in Scopus and WOS, such as the Production and Operations Management Journal. Last POMS Latino American (POMS Latam) conference host by PUC-Rio University, achieved to publish three indexed publications directly related to conference; the Proceedings in Business and Economics, in Springer and two special issues in journals, the Brazilian Journal of Operations and Production Management (BJO&PM) and Production Journal (PJ).
The realization of POMS by the PUCP presents as a great opportunity to make visible the research work from its researches, create, and strengthen networks with academic community. In addition, this will allow consolidate PUCP as knowledge dissemination center nationally and internationally.
The conference is addressed to all professionals in production and operations management (POM) around the world.
Professors, Researches, Students, and Practitioners from Engineering, Management, Economy, and related fields are invited to take part in the event, given the characteristics of the crosscutting lines of interest that the event has. This event is supported by Industrial Engineering Unit and The Crisis and Disaster Management Research Group, from PUCP.
The objectives of the event are framed in those proposed by POMS:
- Expand and integrate knowledge that contributes to improving the understanding and practice of production and operations management,
- Disseminate information about POM to managers, scientists, educators, students, public and private organizations, national and local governments, and the general public; Y
- Promote the improvement of POM and its teaching in public and private manufacturing and service organizations around the world.
