In the year 2021, Peru celebrates the Bicentennial of its Independence, and is positioned not only as a multicultural, biodiverse country, with a vast history and with impressive tourist attractions, but also as a country that values ​​its identity and is made up of entrepreneurial and innovative citizens who pursue their dreams to achieve their development. Lima, the capital of the Bicentennial, will host the XIX Latin-Ibero-American Congress of Technological Management and Innovation – ALTEC 2021, which for the first time in its history will be completely virtual. The central theme of the event is “Innovation and transformative technologies: dilemmas, challenges and actions to build a sustainable future.”

It should be noted that the Congress is the biennial event of the Association that will be held for the second time in Peru, where it was previously held in Lima in 2011. This time the Congress is organized by the Pontificia Universidad Católica del and has with the support of important national allies such as the Ministry of Production of Peru (PRODUCE), National Council of Science, Technology and Technological Innovation (CONCYTEC), Commission for the Promotion of Peru for Exports and Tourism (PromPerú), University of Lima, San Ignacio de Loyola University, La Molina National Agrarian University, San Martín National University, Hermilio Valdizan National University and the Doctoral Program in Strategic Management of the Consortium of Universities. Likewise, the Congress has as an international ally the Technological Management Program of the University of São Paulo in Brazil.

The various editions of the congress have been held in the following countries: Argentina, Brazil, Chile, Costa Rica, Cuba, Spain, Mexico, Peru, Portugal and Venezuela. The holding of this congress is one of the main activities of the association, constituting an exceptional opportunity to discuss and think about the latest trends in policies and management of innovation and technology in Latin America, as well as to expand and consolidate networks of cooperation and links between individuals and academic, business, governmental and social institutions in the region.
